Microgaming Now Using Germany’s Online Gaming Regulation

Updated: 15.04.2024

Microgaming Now Using Germany’s Online Gaming RegulationIn light of announcing several new games for October, software developer Microgaming has recently revealed that they are to use Germany’s online gaming regulations. The software provider has confirmed its pledge to these new regulations. The German plans that Microgaming is now following apply an online slot licensing scheme for commercial operators. They have added several new rules that encourage social responsibility and aim to reduce gambling-related harm. These new directives will be effective as of July 2021 and are fully backed by Microgaming.

Changes to Germany’s Online Gambling Regulations

The new German directives include a 5-second pause between reel spins in slot games, new deposit caps each month, and a limit on the maximum stake. Additionally, all online games must be available in German.

The new rules will be officially implemented and come into force in July 2021. In the meantime, there will be ‘transitional tolerance’ which allows online casinos to access the German market proving they accept the new measures.

Microgaming to Make Changes

Software suppliers can apply for licenses and will be omitted from future licensing procedures if they do not accept the new regulatory measures. As a result, Microgaming has announced that they will be making the necessary changes to align with the new German Tolerance Regime.

The plan Microgaming has come up with to satisfy the new requirements will not affect the overall experience of their players. Fans of online casino slots will still be able to enjoy all of Microgaming’s best offerings and will notice little change on the surface of things.

On the 15th of October, Microgaming launched a solution to suit the German Tolerance Regime which allows them to operate in the German market. Over 150 games will be accessible through the Microgaming platform. These titles include the very popular 9 Masks of Fire, Book of Oz, and Bonanza.
