The World Championship of Online Poker is an online series of Poker sponsored by global Poker behemoth – PokerStars.
The competition took place on the PokerStars platform throughout September and looks to have been a glowing and resounding success story. Every single tournament involved in the series surpassed it’s pre-set tournament prize pool total and sent the overall pay-outs for the entire series way above the guideline, or more promised, $60m PokerStars said beforehand.
WCOOP 17-1
There were some big winners even right from the start of the series, which began on 3rd September, as the opening Kickoff tournament paid out a cool $115,278 to the winning player from an entry fee of $215, and a total prize pool of over $800k!!
As you’d expect with a series like this running so long, there were constant big wins, multiple highlight plays and, of course, impatient waiting for the turn and the river!
Here’s a little list of the other notable wins or facts about this great series;
Super Tuesday Tournaments surpassing $1m in pay-outs from $1-$2k ranged buy-ins
$3.5m pay-outs to the universally-located high stake buy-in of 66-H $25k high roller

Don’t be disheartened if you missed out on this global spectacular in the poker world, as the WCOOP doesn’t stop here. The WCOOP events carry on at different parts of 2017 and we’d say to make sure you check the PokerStars website for full information.
There are Sunday Million tournaments with astronomical prize pools with $1m guaranteed, the Saturday Line-Up has major tournaments every week and there’s even the chance to build up your winnings with the Bounty Builder and the knockout tournaments.
