The globally renowned betting operator, Bwin has officially launched their Russian online betting platform, Bwin.ru. During the press conference, they have stated that they will start in a short time to operate and take Russian bets from all over Russia.
The website is built through Bwin's partnership with a local Russian businessperson, named Alexander Mamut. Alexander is the owner of Digital Betting LLC, licensed in Russia and Rambler & Co, an online media company that already works on news–related Russian websites.
The partnership states that Digital Betting LLC is to provide an annual funding budget of 11.2 million euro in three years and Bwin has the responsibility to provide the technological structure and branding of the whole project for a certain percentage of the profit in the future, acquired by the new platform.
This launch means that a global betting company managed to burst the bubble that kept the gambling market in Russia, the most intriguing one, away from the rest of the world.
So far, the Russian central media regulatory body has banned and put many international gambling sites on the blacklist. A lot of them, domains related to Bwin itself.
Including Bwin, Russia now counts a total of 15 licensed betting companies, among which, BingoBoom, Zenit, Fonbet, PariMatch, Marathon, Tennisi, Betcity, 888, Leon, Olympus, Baltbet, BingoBoom, Winline, 1xBet and Liga Stavok
