It’s some big news this month as a staggering $630m purchase was made by Lotto specialist group Scientific Games – the firm acquired NYX Gaming Group for a healthy deal that gets all the remaining shares for the Canadian company (worth about $775m CAD).
Scientific Games Corporation is an American company that provides gambling products and services to lottery and gambling organizations worldwide. Based in Las Vegas, the products developed include electronic gaming machines, table games, iGaming and iLottery products, internet applications, server-based interactive gambling terminals, and gambling control systems.

This isn’t the first big acquisition made by Scientific Games since it’s insurrection with many others happening over the years, all with their different stories and movements, retainment’s and developments after the combination of companies.
In the year 2000, then called Scientific Games Holdings Corp was acquired by the Autotote Corporation – a firm who started in 1973.
Autotote Corporation see’s value in the acquired name and renames its brand to Scientific Games Corporation
Scientific Games acquires WMS Industries Inc (an American electronic gaming and amusement manufacturer in Enterprise),
Scientific Games acquires Bally Technologies, In (a manufacturer of slot machines and other gaming technology based in Enterprise). Bally had acquired SHFL Entertainment inc the previous year.
Scientific Games acquires DEQ Systems Corp (manufactures, leases, and sells auxiliary systems for casino gaming tables), Bingo Showdown creator ‘Spicerack Media’ and Red7Mobile (creates, designs and develops high quality, innovative casino games and sports apps for the gambling industry across mobile and desktop).
Scientific Games acquires NYX Gaming Group & Tech Art Inc (home of MAXTime, Super Fun 21 and casino game consultation).
It’s likely that this won’t be the last purchase, or acquisition if you will, the SG makes this year or in the coming years in their succeeding quest to become the world’s biggest casino, gaming and industry conglomerate there is.
