Gambling in Spain has seen a fair number of changes over the last 10 years with specific regulatory requirements in place with DNI/NIE number requirements and verifications needed to even activate your bookmaker accounts if the bookmaker is located outside of Spain.
Andalusia is considered the 2nd
largest autonomous community in Spain, and this Southern Communities’ Governing Council have approved the “Andalusia Gambling Regulations” – regulations that will oversee and govern the online gambling activity within its territory, specifically the 8 provinces that make up Andalusia, in an effort to boost revenues with this additional income as a result of the rules and their allowances.
Andalusia is divided into eight provinces: Almería, Cádiz, Córdoba, Granada, Huelva, Jaén, Málaga and the capital; Seville. With an estimated population of close to 8.5m people, the legalisation of sports betting in the vicinity will no doubt be well received by a greater proportion of those residing in these provinces, and seen as a welcome change to be held responsible for their own laws and rules as a separate entity.
The new regulations allow sports betting as well as vendors for gambling such as gaming parlours, bingo halls and betting shops but does not allow sports betting to take place in non-gaming venues like hotels, restaurants or bars.
Job, revenue, tax income and more – the upside to this new law and regulations is more than a celebration to be allowed to be on the worlds football or local events, the benefits are being counted and in our view, it won’t be long before the Andalusia Governments choice pays off with financial and pleasurable profiting.
