How have traditional elements and symbols of St. Patrick's Day been integrated into the gameplay and design of Paddy O’Plunder?

We deliberately and eagerly kept everyone’s favourite elements of Irish folklore like the colour green, the mythical leprechaun, beer (a bit different than usual, though) and, of course, the rainbow. We did, however, combine these popular and instantly recognizable elements with engaging pirate items such as Corsair galleons, smoking pipes and treasure chests.

Why was a pirate chosen as the mascot for Paddy O’Plunder, especially considering the traditional association of leprechauns with St. Patrick's Day?

The main intention behind this choice was to combine two popular themes, the luck of the Irish and the pirates because their mash-up can make for an entertaining and compelling story. You can get to riches either by a stroke of luck or by force, so we included both. We used symbols of good luck such as four-leaf clovers, added rainbows that stand for transformation and new hope to represent Paddy’s change of career path, and mixed them with popular pirate features such as daggers and treasure maps. Our choice of imagery both reflects and drives the plot of Paddy’s rise to glory and good fortunes and with all this together, we were able to create an entire story arc that ultimately always leads to gold, one way or another.

What special features can players expect in Paddy O’Plunder?

Paddy O’Plunder delights with two main mechanics: the first one is the four-leaf clover respins. Landing six or more of these lucky symbols activates the respin feature with three resettable respins, which allows for exciting lucky streaks and ramps up the suspense. The action simply continues until the player misses three spins in a row - or fills the grid, which awards them with the grand jackpot! To make this feature more attainable, three stacked golden clovers can land on reel three. They function as part of the feature trigger and usually carry higher values than the green ones, but also count as wilds which allows for the creation of line wins as well.

The other main feature is the free spins. By landing three or more galleon symbols, the player will trigger up to 25 free games which can be retriggered in the same fashion. In this phase, any win landed will be boosted by a random multiplier of up to 25x, ensuring pretty high payouts!
