Slotsjudge Interviews Andre Villandberg: Behind The Scenes of Bullshark Games

Q. Your new release, Age of Seth, inspired by ancient Egyptian mythology, has quickly climbed into multiple trending slot charts—an impressive result! What do you think drove this early success?
A: Thanks! We’re really happy with how Age of Seth has been received. I think the early success comes down to a few key things. First, it’s visually striking and a bit darker and more intense than your typical Egyptian-themed slot. Then there’s the volatility. This is a game where anything can happen on any spin, and that keeps players engaged.
On top of that, we’ve added a progressive symbol collection system and multiple bonus buy options so players can approach the game in different ways depending on their risk appetite. It’s a combination of solid math, strong visuals, and that good old “just one more spin” feeling.
Q. Seth is an infernal figure in Egyptian mythology, a god of chaos, storms, and war. What inspired you to centre your new game around Seth, and how did you translate his nature into the gameplay and features of the slot?
A: We were drawn to Seth’s chaotic nature, he’s unpredictable, powerful, and not as overused as gods like Ra or Anubis. That gave us creative freedom to build a gameplay experience that’s just as wild and unpredictable as he is.
The game’s extreme volatility, the symbol collection that builds towards triggering huge features, and the sudden shift in momentum with Seth Wilds, all of that was designed to reflect his persona. In Age of Seth, you can be spinning quietly one moment, and the next, everything explodes into action. That’s chaos, in the best way possible.
Q. The progression system, collecting symbols to unlock boosters and free spins, adds a rewarding layer. What kind of engagement or emotional response did you want this mechanic to trigger for players?
A: We wanted players to feel a sense of buildup and anticipation. The collection system creates a clear goal, so every spin feels like it’s part of something bigger.
It also adds that moment of tension: "Am I getting close to something huge?" It’s all about building up emotional peaks, not just spinning for the sake of spinning. And once players realise how close they are to unlocking Seth Wilds or bonus rounds, it creates real excitement and investment in every session.
Q. Ancient Egypt is surrounded by myths, mysteries, and timeless intrigue. Do you see this sense of enigma as something that reflects the slot experience?
A: Absolutely. Slots and mythology actually have a lot in common—you never quite know what’s coming next, and there’s always a sense of wonder or discovery.
We wanted Age of Seth to tap into that feeling. The unknown, the build-up, the moment of chaos that suddenly changes everything, that’s where the magic of both slots and mythology really lives. So yes, we definitely lean into that enigma and try to create experiences that keep players curious and engaged from the first spin to the last.
Q. If you had the chance to summon one ancient god to bless your next slot release, who would it be?
A: Tough one! But I think I’d go with Prometheus, he’s all about bringing fire and innovation to the people. That aligns perfectly with what we’re trying to do at Bullshark... Shake things up, light a fire under the status quo, and bring something new and exciting to players.
And hey, if he could bless us with a few 10,000x+ wins for players too, that wouldn’t hurt!
