Theme, Gameplay, and Symbols

Looking at this Novomatic slot game is basically like staring at an actual fish tank. The backdrop to this slot shows an aquatic scene with tons of bubbles as well as sea plants, and yet, not a single fish in sight. This happens to be a 5-reel game with 3 rows of symbols and 20 paylines. Those paylines aren’t a fixed amount, meaning you would have to choose your stake and the number of paylines you wish to enable for each spin of the reels. There’s even a bubbly, cute soundtrack to this online slot game, which won’t drive you crazy during your game. As for the symbols here, we cannot say that they are all that impressive, to be honest, and there aren’t really that many of these symbols, to begin with. What we are looking at is an anchor and the Logo of this Novomatic slot, plus the typical 10 to Ace low-value playing card symbols. At least these have been given a somewhat special look, as they have a type of sea plant attached to each of them. All in all, they could have put more effort into the symbols.

The Wild here is represented by a pink-colored starfish and it only makes an appearance on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th reels. It can sub for the other symbols in order to get the player, you, some decent wins, plus 5 of these wilds on an enabled payline get you a mighty handsome win!

There is also an Autoplay feature here, and you may set between 1 and 50 automated spins if you wish.

Bonus Games and a Gamble Feature

There is a special ‘Go Fishing’ Bonus that is randomly awarded and it could crop up at the end of practically any spin. You can tell it’s coming when the reels here suddenly fill-up with water, which causes all the symbols to vanish!

Now, a fishing hook will appear above these reels and once you press on the ‘start’ button it will lower and snatch a fish randomly from a reel. You see, the size of the fish will determine the size of your win. This bonus game stops if you end up with the prize catch, or, in the worst-case scenario, with the boot that gets you nothing. Finally, this slot game, like many others, also offers you the chance to increase your win through the Gamble feature, except that here, it is a bit different from your usual ‘guess the color of the playing card’ task. 

Namely, here there is a 50-50 mini-game where, if you accept it instead of just collecting the win and moving on, you would need to get this flashing light on what is here the winning amount. And guess what, even if you end up getting it wrong, you may still get what is known as a ‘Lucky Loser prize’ here. This prize can be collected, or maybe you will choose another gamble. But no matter how different or original, this is still a risky feature, so be careful with it.

Final Verdict

We feel the need to admit that this is not the best Novomatic slot we have ever had the pleasure of checking out or reviewing. The lack of more symbols as well as the lack of free spins is more than a bit disappointing.
