The first one usually notices while playing this online slot is its overall look. It truly has some impressive artwork that will add a whole lot to your enjoyment of this game.

Novomatic’s “Hold Your Horses” slot has 5 reels, 4 rows, and up to as many as 20 paylines, which are not fixed. In other words, it’s up to the player to choose just how many paylines they want to activate, as well as their stake. Speaking of which, it can cost you, as the player, between £0.01 - £80.

There are 5 different, gorgeous horses featured in this game. There’s one which is entirely black (maybe a black beauty?), a white stallion, a brown horse with a lovely light-brown mane, yet another brown one, this time with a lovely white mane, and even a third brown one with a, you guessed it, dark-brown mane. They all look absolutely stunning! We also have the 10 – Ace low-value playing card symbols.

Keep your eyes peeled because there are some symbols that have just 1 horse while others have 2. Those symbols with a pair of horses count for 2 single horses on a payline, which increases one’s chances of landing larger wins! You end up with a winning combo when at least 5 or more of these breathtaking beasts appear on an active payline. The biggest payout for each of these horse symbols is 10-of-a-kind. 10 of that white horse symbol gets you a 200x multiplier!

The Wild here is the ‘Hold Your Horses’ logo, which can substitute for the other symbols in this game and thus, help you with more winning combos. 5 of these Wild symbols pay 500x your bet, which is the biggest prize in the entire game. This Wild cannot substitute for the Bonus Symbol, however, which plays a crucial role in triggering this slot’s bonus game.

Speaking of Bonus Games…

To activate the special “Hold Your Horses” Bonus Feature, one needs to go fill the entire set of reels with Bonus symbols. For starters, you would need Bonus Symbols stacked on the 1st reel. Then all these Bonus Symbols on your screen become ‘stuck in their place’. These reels are then re-spun, with any new Bonus Symbols once again becoming ‘locked’. This goes on until the entire set of reels has been filled with Bonus Symbols. However, if a re-spin doesn’t result in more Bonus Symbols appearing, this would end your chances of activating the bonus round.

If you manage to get into this special round, then you would gain 15 free spins! Moreover, once you get to that 15th free spin (the final one) you still have the opportunity of re-triggering more of these! This may occur up to 10 consecutive times, which means the player could win as many as 150 free spins in the long run! Count yourself as really lucky if that happens!

One more thing worth mentioning is that this game also offers you a Gamble feature, with the typical playing card game you’ve surely seen before unless you happen to be a complete rookie.
