Contact is a 5x7 grid cluster-pays slot that features the popular Aztec theme. I say popular because ever since the release of the epic slot Gonzo’s Quest by NetEnt, the theme has been used in so many other slots by other developers, Play’n GO included. Contact, however, really impressed me with its towering reelset, presented in 3D. But that’s not the only impressive thing this slot offers.
Contrary to most cluster-pays slots, the winning combos in Contact are not removed, but cascade down and stick on the reels while new symbols fall from above and land on them, boosting your chances to win the maximum payout of 1517.5x the stake. Contact’s RTP of 96.55% only adds to the greatness of this slot which can be played for a stake from 0.20 to 100 credits.
How to Play Contact
Play’n GO gives you the chance to try out the game for free, even though you can always play it for real money in any Play’n GO-powered online casino. Contact is a big win video slot, so I would suggest you read through my review, get a sense of the gameplay, and start spinning the reels for real money bets. With the winning clusters that stick on the reels and all the new symbols that land from above, you get so many chances to grab some major wins, and even to hit the major prize.
As you load the game, you will first notice the two burning skulls on both sites of the towering reelset which looks like an ancient Aztec temple. On the reels, you will see 5 lowest-paying Aztec-made stone-carved animals, the Turtle and the Snake being the lowest-paying ones giving you 5x the stake, the Bird and the Monkey the mediocre value ones with 10x the stake payouts and the jaguar with 15x the stake.
The four Aztec face masks are the premium symbols, the Red one giving you 50x the stake, the Green one 60x, the Turquoise one 75x and the Purple 150x the stake.
Interestingly, Contact slot doesn’t offer Scatters nor Wilds! Instead, the game uses Multipliers and special features, triggered by special symbols. The one with the Skull is the Block Destroyer, the one with the Sun is the Extra Free Spins and the one with the Pyramid is the Symbol Upgrade symbol.
As you fill the reel 2, 4, and 6 with winning clusters, you increase the Multiplier from x2 up to 4x, which is added to your wins.
If you create winning combos to the top row, you trigger the Bonus Round which is a streak spins feature. You start with 3 Free Spins, and as you fill the 2, 3, 5 or 6th row with winning symbols, you get a 2x, 3x, 4x, or 5x Multiplier, respectively. If, on the other hand, you fill the 1, 4 or 7th row, you will get one of the 3 Modifiers: the Block Destroyer which destroyed 1 Multiplier Block, Symbol Upgrade which upgrades one winning cluster or Extra Free Spins which increases the Free Spins number by 1.
If you manage to fill the entire grid with the same symbol, you will trigger the Super Bonus Round and you will be awarded 6 Free Spins and a 25x the stake reward. This is a more generous bonus game because here, as you fill any row with winning symbols, you get a Win Multiplier AND a Modifier.
Both the Win Multiplier and the Modifier will be more rewarding. The Block Destroyer will destroy 3 blocks, the Symbol Upgrade will upgrade all winning clusters to the next best symbol, and the Extra Free Spins will give you 3 Free Spins.
Contact Technical Information
There are 5 reels and 7 rows in Contact, and as explained throughout the review, you don’t get paid for how many symbols you land on a payline, but how many symbols you have in the cluster. The RTP the game offers is 96.55%, and the betting range goes from 0.20 to 100 credits. There is a 1,517.5x the stake payout you could win if you manage to go through the Bonus Rounds. In credits, that means 151,750 credits, which is not bad at all.
Visually, I am stunned by Contact. The vivid colours, the design, the crisp-clear graphics, the drawings, and the visual effects are masterfully implemented in the slot. The theme is presented fittingly, and the payout potential is a pretty nice one.
I must admit that I was hoping for a much higher maximum win considering the slot is coming from a developer like Play’n GO. But when you think about it, for a 100 credits bet, you can win 151,750 credits, and that’s a sum that I could live with. Therefore, make sure you try out the game and see whether you share my opinion about it.
